The Willans Hill School difference
Learning
We provide personalised, evidence-informed learning that builds on each student’s strengths, individual goals and communication needs. Through explicit teaching, targeted assessment and programs such as University of Florida Literacy Intensive (UFLI) and Play Immersive Literacy, students are supported to achieve meaningful growth. Learning focuses on developing the knowledge, confidence and independence students need at school, at home and within their community.
Student Opportunities and Activities
Students are provided with a rich range of opportunities including sport, dance, music, student leadership, work education, community access, cultural experiences and practical learning programs. These experiences allow students to discover their strengths and interests, develop friendships and practise important life skills in authentic settings. Participation beyond the classroom builds confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging.
Facilities and Resources
Our specialised facilities and resources are designed to provide safe, accessible and engaging learning experiences that respond to the individual needs of our students. Purpose-built and adapted spaces, including our sensory room, Mini-Woolies, play-based learning centre, accessible playgrounds and specialised learning and communication resources, support learning, regulation, independence and participation. We continually improve our environments to ensure students have equitable access to opportunities across the school.
