Our highlights
Work experience and community participation
Our work experience and community participation programs give students real-world learning opportunities. Students build independence and workplace skills by taking part in supported work placements, attending TAFE, volunteering activities, and running internal school based businesses. These experiences help students explore interests, practise life skills, and prepare for life after school.
Cultural learning and language programs
Our cultural learning and language programs help students learn about, celebrate and respect different cultures. Students take part in activities for NAIDOC Week, Multicultural Week and Harmony Week . They enjoy Aboriginal cultural learning experiences with our AEO, and have opportunities to connect with community. These experiences help students build understanding, connection and pride in our diverse community.
Creative and performing arts
Our creative and performing arts programs give students opportunities to express themselves and build confidence. Students enjoy visual arts, music, drama, and sensory art experiences throughout the year. They also have the chance to perform and celebrate their talents in our annual whole-school dance concert and other school events.
Student leadership and voice
Our student leadership programs encourage students to contribute to school life and build confidence in sharing their ideas. Students can take on roles such as school captains or join our Student Representative Council (SRC). They also help represent our school at special events and support community activities.
Sport and physical activity
Our sport and physical activity programs support students to stay active, build coordination and teamwork, and have fun. Students take part in a range of sporting opportunities, including school-based activities, gala days and inter-school competitions, with programs adapted so everyone can participate and succeed.
Wellbeing and social development
Our wellbeing programs help students build friendships, learn social skills, and feel confident and safe at school. Students enjoy peer play opportunities, structured social skills programs such as our Willans Hill Interest Groups (WHIGs), rest and reset days, and self-regulation learning through the Zones of Regulation. Our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program celebrates positive choices with rewards and fun activities. Sensory-friendly play spaces and supports are available to help every student feel calm, supported and ready to learn.
Excursions and incursions
Our excursions and incursions give students hands-on learning experiences linked to all Key Learning Areas. Students explore the community, take part in real-world learning opportunities, and enjoy visits from special guests and organisations. These experiences help build independence, confidence and meaningful connections with our local community.
Lunchtime and interest based groups
Our lunchtime and interest-based clubs give students a chance to explore hobbies, make friends and try new activities in a fun and supported environment. Students can join in clubs such as Minecraft club and choir, help care for our school chickens, and take part in other interest-based groups throughout the year.
