Home and school partnerships
At Willans Hill, we partner with families to make sure every student is ready to learn and fully included in school life. By working together, we support students with disability and additional needs to grow, succeed and feel confident every day.
Working together to support student learning, safety and wellbeing
Willans Hill School is committed to building strong partnerships with parents and carers to establish clear expectations for student engagement, behaviour support, and anti-bullying strategies. We work collaboratively with families by:
- seeking parent/carer and student feedback through both formal and informal channels, such as Personalised Learning Support Plan (PLSP) meetings, surveys, consultation with the P&C, and engagement with the local AECG.
- using concerns raised through the school’s complaints and feedback procedures to review and improve systems, data, and practices.
- sharing resources with families to support the continuity and generalisation of skills between school and home.
- inviting parents and carers to participate in relevant professional learning opportunities, such as the schools monthly Parent Information sessions, which are tailored to the needs of our student population.
Willans Hill School follows the NSW School Community Charter and communicates expectations through the school website, newsletters, and Facebook page. We are proactive in fostering collaborative relationships with families and the wider community to create a shared understanding of how best to support student learning, safety, and wellbeing.
